JAM is an exam which is conducted for admission of MSc in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in IITs, IISc Bangalore and other institutions. It started in 2005. I remember the time not too back, when students even in Delhi were not aware of it. But during the recent years things changed very fast due to internet access to more people. Now one can find easily a lot of students even from remote areas, who appear for it.
There are a lot of MSc Entrance Examinations, conducted in India, but JAM’s reputations among people increased at an amazing rate. The students throughout India participate in it. It might not be wrong to say that JAM has the greatest potential to play a very active role in the development of research in natural sciences: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
