GATE score is valid for three years from the date of announcement of the results. Earlier students use to consider few options after cracking gate exam such as scientist or a professor but nowadays the scenario has changed and scope has widen up.
Now there are many more career options that students can explore with a decent gate score and recently there is huge growth in the number of aspirants for gate exam, increasing to the tune of 1-2 lakhs every year. Year by year the cut off gate score for admission to IIS or IIT has increased for doing Master of Technology (M.Tech / ME/ MS ) from a premier institute like IISc, IITs, NITs etc. GATE Score is also accepted by Universities outside India for PG programs.
If you are a GATE qualified candidate you are eligible for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in Council of scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR) Laboratories which is a publicly funded Research and development organisation. This year many Public Sector Undertaking are calling candidates directly for interview based on GATE Score.
